Your gift supports life-saving care for children whose families can’t afford treatment.
In 2024, four friends and colleagues met to establish what would become the Pediatric Head and Neck Cancer Foundation—the first organization devoted to eliminating head and neck (HN) cancers in children. Our founders were inspired to form this foundation partly because of inadequate research support and a lack of medical guidelines for treating pediatric patients with these cancers.
Too often, children’s cancers are treated like adult cancers when they differ significantly in everything from presentation to psychosocial needs. Now, we call on you to help fight HN cancer and to be a catalyst for change. We are at a crisis point; the incidence of these cancers has been steadily rising for the past 20 years, and today, one out of every five pediatric cancers presents in the head and neck region.
How can I help?
Your financial contribution matters. Not only do we support much-needed advancements in how HN cancers are diagnosed and treated in pediatric patients, but we also support families whose lives have been impacted by these diagnoses. With this diagnosis comes not only fear but potential financial devastation. Regardless of the community or country they call “home,” children with HN cancer deserve timely and expert care. Yet, far too many, far too often, go without it. Your gift can make a tremendous difference in the lives of these children and their families. We can ensure no child is left behind, regardless of their insurance/financial status and geography.
What does my gift fund?
In short, your gift makes healing possible. Too often, access to quality care comes down to the quality of one’s insurance. Your generosity helps to fund surgeries and cancer treatments for children who are uninsured and underinsured in the U.S. These children might otherwise go without the treatments that they need. Your dollars are truly life-changing and life-saving in additional ways, including:
- Supporting mission-based care for those children living abroad who do not have access to specialists in treating pediatric HN cancers
- Covering travel and lodging expenses for families who are seeking care lifts a tremendous financial burden off their shoulders
- Promoting improvements in research and clinician training to advance innovations in cancer treatment
Rest assured that your generous support has a real, direct impact — locally, nationally, and globally.
How do you help children abroad?
Our network and resources extend beyond the United States’ borders. We partner with hospitals and medical missions overseas to sponsor children in underserved areas. These children often go without access to cancer specialists, which has a direct and detrimental effect on their care. Whether helping a young child in Latin America or a teen in Southeast Asia, your dollars allow us to heal others stateside and worldwide. We bridge the miles, bringing skilled surgical care, compassion, and hope to those with the greatest unmet needs.
What options do I have to help?
There are so many ways to make a difference in the lives of these children and their families! We also recognize that personal financial situations vary considerably for those motivated to join our cause. So, there are several ways to get involved. You can make a single donation or become a monthly, ongoing supporter. You can even sponsor a child’s full treatment journey. If you feel compelled to join our global efforts, partner with us to fund surgical missions. It also doesn’t cost a dime to share our cause on social media channels. Please help us to spread the word!
The Pediatric Head and Neck Cancer Foundation thanks you for donating time, talent, and treasure.
